brass forged ball valve
A Ball Valve is a quarter turn valve which can be opened or closed by applying pressure on the hollow and pivoting ball inserted into void opening. It is usually used as a switch that can control and direct the flow of fluids (including air, water, gas, oil etc.). When the hole in the ball is aligned to the flow, it is open and closed when it is perpendicular.
We at J H Manufacturing Co. manufacture Brass Forged Ball Valves. To manufacture a supreme quality product, we import brass scrap generally from USA and Europe. The product manufactured is precisely designed which leads to dimensional accuracy, makes it versatile and easy to operate. We have spectro facility for testing which is the reason for high durability, robust and tensile strength of our product.
We can also manufacture Brass Forged Ball Valve made up of Lead-free brass such as Eco-brass and Bismuth brass as per the customer requirement.
The salient features of this product are:
- Full bore two piece design
- P.T.F.E ball ring and gland packing
- Quarter turn, Lever operated
- Nickel plated
- Ball Valve manufactured from Eco-brass is also available.
- Brass stem, Ball, Gland-nut, Nut
- CNC Machined
- 100% Tested

The manufacturing procedure of ball valve:
The reliable and stable quality of brass ball valve comes from every process and details of production and quality control. To manufacture this product, we have the following facilities in our manufacturing unit:
- Casting with Induction Furnace
- Testing with Spectro
- Hot rolled Brass Rod
- In-house Forging
- Shot Blasting Machines
- CNC Machines
- Single Spindle Semi-automatic Machines
- Assembly Unit
The step by step manufacturing procedure of brass forged ball valve is:
1. Raw Material:
We generally import fine quality raw material "honey scrap" from our trusted vendors in USA and Europe which is main reason behind our superior quality product.
2. Spectro Testing & Casting:
The scrap material is heated using Induction Furnace until it liquefies and then the molten metal is tested using Spectro in which the amount of impurities is checked, we prefer the amount of impurities below 1.00%. We can also cast Eco-brass to manufacture a lead-free brass ball valve. Further we perform casting in which melted metal is poured in molds that contains a hollow cavity of desired shape.
3. Rolling & Cutting:
The red-hot casting is ejected from the mold and passed through the rolling machine to reduce the thickness and make it uniform. Next, pointing is performed on one side of rod using pointing machine. Then, the pointed rod is passed through the carbide die of Draw Bench which makes it of accurate size and gives perfect finish. The rod is checked for any bends and is straightened if any. Then the rod is cut in desired length and weight for forging according to the size of ball valve.
4. Forging:
Once the rod is cut into desired length, we forge the red hot rod into desired shape using Forging Machine. We prefer forging over casting because forged product are tougher, have more strength and also eliminates the occurrence of cavities.
5. Trimming & Shotblasting:
The forged rod is transferred for trimming where we clean the burr using power plus machine. The rod is then passed through shot blasting machine in which we roughens the smooth surface of the product.
6. CNC Machining:
CNC and multi-axis machines will work out the correct dimensions and threads, for end threads and stem holes, as per technical drawings. Machining is very important process for the quality of brass ball valves, and we have first piece inspection, on-site inspection, and final inspection, to ensure every detail conforms to standards.
7. Nickel & Chrome Plating:
The machined component is then sent for out-sourced surface treatment, we generally prefer nickel plating.
8. Assembly & Fitting:
All parts are manually assembled and fitted as a whole valve. Further, we perform testing at 300 pound using pressure pump. And finally, the ball valve is packed and is ready to be delivered.
